Welcome to FEA!

The Future Educators Association® (FEA), sponsored by PDK International, is a professional organization that supports more than 20,000 junior high/middle school, high school, and college students who are interested in education-related careers. With more than 1,200 chapters worldwide, FEA exists across the United States, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Turkey.

Through affiliation with local chapters that are registered with the international FEA office, prospective educators are presented with scholarship opportunities, as well as age-appropriate materials and activities that help them gain a realistic understanding of the nature of education and the role of the teacher. This association is unique in that it offers students who are interested in the field of education unparalleled professional development opportunities. Through hands-on career exploration, students assume leadership roles and develop professional skill sets that will serve them throughout their careers.

Mission
The mission of FEA is to foster the recruitment and development of prospective educators worldwide through the dissemination of innovative programming and relevant research.

Vision
By elevating the image of teaching, FEA will attract dynamic and diverse students who will become tomorrow’s great educators.

Tagline
FEA — A classroom is waiting . . .

Headquarters
The administrative office of the FEA program is located at the headquarters for PDK International, the professional education association, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Programming
Through efforts to provide students with the most relevant opportunities to investigate what it means to be a teacher, FEA offers two distinct programs for prospective educators:

These programs are specific to each audience to provide the most applicable information to both age groups, while continuously seeking out opportunities for collaboration between the two.

What Local FEA Chapters Do

For students . . . FEA helps students to explore teaching as a career option, provides them with a realistic understanding of teaching, and encourages students from diverse backgrounds to think seriously about the teaching profession.

For teachers . . . FEA offers teachers a chance to shape our nation's future by shaping the future of the education profession. It also gives teachers opportunities to examine, clarify, and explain their role in students' lives.

For schools . . . FEA is a service opportunity that elevates the role of teachers and offers new avenues of communication about education and its place in the community.

For communities . . . FEA provides a chance for communities to "grow their own" future teachers and raises the status of the education profession in the eyes of their residents.

For colleges . . . FEA offers colleges and universities an easy-to-implement, comprehensive program that will expand the pool of applicants to teacher education programs and provide early identification of potentially excellent future teachers.

For the education profession . . . FEA extends the vision of the profession by enlarging the talent pool. It creates a positive image of teaching for students, parents, and others. And it encourages the influx of new ideas and diverse points of view.
